Our history
In 2004, with the vision that mobile phones were going to become the most important tool for connectivity, we founded Mobile Dreams Factory (MDF), becoming one of the most significant mobile marketing and advertising companies in Europe. We received numerous recognitions for the way we connected our clients (IKEA, BMW-Mini, Vodafone, Burger King, Banco Santander, BBVA...) with their consumers.
Being close to many of the common problems faced by large companies allowed us to identify opportunities to build platforms that provided efficient solutions to these issues.
Between 2012 and 2015, we created three companies, and in less than 5 years, we sold all three to publicly traded companies. In 2019, we decided to dismantle the marketing operations and transform MDF into a Venture Builder, replicating the model that had worked for us.
Mobile Dreams Ventures is led by Salvador Carrillo, co-founder and CEO since its founding in 2004. Salvador is a serial entrepreneurwith more than 25 years of experience in digital business.
Our approach
We do not invest in already established companies. We create them from scratch, providing the initial capital, designing the company concept, and searching for the best managers and partners to scale the business in the future. We are entrepreneurs, not a Venture Capital firm. We maintain 100% active involvement, and we like the partners who join each initiative, whether they are financial partners or not, to have a deep understanding of the industry we are aiming to transform.
We are agnostic in terms of industries and technologies, but we have a preference for sectors we know well and where we see more opportunities to transform businesses, especially in finance and media.
We seek to ensure that the companies we create have a positive impact and help address what we believe are significant challenges: mitigating climate change and using digitalization to empower people to have a better life. In terms of technologies, we are passionate about Blockchain, and, like almost everyone today, we are experimenting with Artificial Intelligence, which we believe is going to bring about social and economic changes at least on the same level as those brought about by the Internet.
